Five Simple Guitar Songs You Can Play Acoustically

By Daniel Williams

Once you have the ability to play the acoustic guitar, it is pretty fun for the guitarist but also really enjoyable for your audience. Some don't know that many of their favorite songs use about 3 chords, but still sound great. Actually, many popular songs are easy to learn when looked at from their chord structure. For instance, here are 5 easy guitar songs that you can learn simply.

1. For What It's Worth This piece was made famous by Buffalo Springfield, and was originally played in '67. Most of this song uses E and A chords, and chords C and D come in for the chorus. This song is not very complicated to play, and you can easily find instructions all over the web telling you how to play it.

2. Knockin' on Heaven's Door It can seem incredible at first blush, however this Bob Dylan (no, the first to sing it was not Guns 'n Roses!) song is very easy to play. You can find good YouTube's on how to play this song, and when to play the chords and even covering how long you should hold each note.

3. Redemption As you might expect, one of the most famous easy guitar songs to pick up is Bob Marley's famous song called Redemption. You might notice up front that it uses more chords, but every one of them are basic chords you will eventually learn. The song uses the following chords: Am, Em, C, G and D. Though there are other pieces to the song, it is good to stretch skills and broaden the abilities for novices and this song is always a hit.

4. Wish You Were Here Pink Floyd is responsible for making, "Wish You Were Here" renowned back in their time. There is certainly, again, a variety of chords used in this piece, but since they are spread out somewhat, you will have time to get your fingers in place. This song will make use of chords A, Am, D, G, Em and C. This like the others is a very traditional (modern) song, easy to play and with impressive results if you want to show your loved ones and friends that you're mastering guitar.

5. Time of Your Life The last of the easy guitar songs which you can play acoustically is known as Time of Your Life, made prominent by the famous alternative band Green Day. This song is rather repetitive, you are going to find. On account of that, it is easy to play (you even play a note nine times over at one juncture). It might sound basic, but it's a piece of art. This piece will play G, D, C and Em chords.
