Birthday Party Band; Live Entertainment

By Lewis John

There are times in a person's life, when they reach a certain age, and that day should be marked with a large celebration which could include a birthday party band as entertainment, lots of food and all their friends and family. These dates are usually a sweet 16, when someone reaches age 21 or any of the years ending in a zero or a five seem to be cause for breaking out the streamers, balloons and party hats.

A comfortable location for the honored guest and all partygoers will be greatly appreciated in the fun time everyone has at a party marking a birthday or other day of importance. A formal function, such as a wedding, Bat or Bar Mitzvah, First Holy Communion, reunion or dance needs to be put on in a clean hall or banquet center in which people in attendance have enough room to dance if there is a live band performing, mingle and simply spread out from the crowd.

Hiring a live band so that guests are sure to have a good time will complement all the other experiences of the day or evening like eating a good meal. Food is typically an excellent way to bring people together in many traditions and live music will give guests another option besides grazing at the buffet. They could enjoy the sounds of a song, which is often better then people talking, or they could decide to get up and dance.

A live band for a birthday party, depending on the age of the guest of honor, could be their favorite local band that plays cover tunes which is music that other band recorded and they simply present these songs. Or, a band could be an original group that writes and performs their own music and lyrics for several partygoers

A tribute band is called so because they cover or attempt to copy a bands look and sound. There are thousands of tribute bands throughout the Untied States and the world. From 1964, a Beatles look-alike band to Muffin Men a tribute band playing only Frank Zappa tunes. Everyone in the tribute group must look and sounds like an original member of the band.

Cover bands are a little different and play a certain decade or time period like 60's music or the time when jazz was popular. Many cover bands choose a couple of bands and stick with only their tunes so they can become almost as good as the originals. Cover bands could be an exciting addition to any type of party or celebration.

A disc jockey could perform at a celebratory party; however this has much less appeal than a live band. There is something exciting about a group of people playing instruments verses speakers music from speakers that will have people up and out on the dance floor.

Additionally, a live birthday party band could take requests from guests who want to hear a certain kind of music. They could also make announcements about the person doing the celebrating while soft music played underneath. There is just something so special about a live band to help commemorate the extraordinary moments of ones life.
