A Broader Explanation Of The Term, Tutor

What does the word tutor mean to you?. Your answer is likely to be referring to extra tuition that the students take privately from teachers outside of their school or colleges. This is the meaning that most of us come up with when asked. However the dictionary meaning could be something else.

Tutoring refers to teaching which is not just limited to academics alone. Teaching in any subject or imparting knowledge and skill or training in music, dance, swimming, painting, driving and so on can be called tutoring. The instructor is referred to as the tutor.

There is no limit to one's learning. Any time in life, you think of any subject you can find a tutor to teach you and train you it the particular subject of interest.

The tutor prepares your mind and opens you thought process to learn something new, assimilate knowledge and retain it within you. He helps you develop your thought process and explore the subject of your interest.

Tutoring is an art. Everybody cannot be a tutor. Similarly to be a tutor you need not be certified unless you want to be a teacher in an academic institution. Anybody imparting knowledge or training is a tutor and you find tutors in all walks of life.

If teaching is something that you enjoy doing, you can practice being a teacher and helping people even while working as a professional. Imparting knowledge and helping others learn is something very useful as well as fulfilling. You are helping people shape their future and contributing to their lives.

Teaching is something that you can do as a hobby in addition to your regular job. You can choose an option that you like and decide for how many hours in a day or week you like to teach. You can even teach others at night online using the internet.

Teaching is a very fulfilling profession for you feel worthwhile and enjoy imparting knowledge and seeing others learn and progress.
