Some Ideas About Music Composition

By Vitalia Keeoa

Music composition is something that is used by anyone who is involved in this area of entertainment, and being able to use a computer to manage things is a benefit. Having the software to keep track of all the nuances of talent could be a good tool to have for getting everything in there correctly.

If you know how to write a score, you know how time consuming it can be to use pencil and paper for getting a hard copy of your talented work. If you don't know anything about standard notation, you could be happy with a means of getting the notes into the computer where it can write the score in WYSIWYG.

Harmony can be difficult to sing and even more so in trying to play along on another instrument while popping in the other parts. By having a 'virtual note sheet' and the ability to note four voices for singers per staff, this could make musical communication more possible than you ever thought before.

Using the computer keyboard and mouse to enter the notes is a great idea and makes things go more quickly, but being able to connect the computer with your MIDI keyboard would make things so much better. You might be able to get more songs entered into the machine with such a feature as that.

You may be well acquainted with the wonders of a synthesizer which is capable of making just about any sound you can conjure up. Trying to get those same sounds down on paper for someone else to play can be an entirely different matter. Your computer can be used for an integrated sequencer, and manage your works.

After entering everything you wanted from that set, you need to be able to save it for future use or printouts. Importing and exporting MusicXML and standard MIDI files would mean being able to pass files to others, and make changes to your work. Then distribute the files of your music composition to the band.
