Enjoying Your Very Own Karaoke Machine

By Mammy Jenkins

The music world has really bloomed the moment karaoke machine has been invented. Folks of all ages, all genders and all types of voices, may it be good or bad, this karaoke machine can be very much enjoyed.

You can see a guide on how to sing using this programmed music as well as its progress throughout the years. Where Karaoke Machines Came From

The very first machine was basically invented in Japan during the 1970s. The singer named Daisuke Inoue developed a tape recorder that could play a song for a 100-yen coin. The listeners during the performance really wanted to sing along during a company vacation so they wanted him to provide his song on a tape.

He felt this as a great idea that could not only be applied for his song only, but for many others. Inoue thought that instead of selling them directly his recorders, he leased it first to the stores.

The restaurants and hotel rooms were the major places that these machines were placed. His invention made him win the tongue-in-cheek Ig Nobel Peace prize in the year 2004.

Karaoke Reaches USA

In the United States, specifically during the year 1990, those KTV boxes started having competitions or fun nights for amateur singers. They are also called bars.

Many Advances

Karaoke machines of the earliest time came with cassette tapes. As time passed by, it had some changes and come with CDs, laser discs, VCDs and today's DVDs.The newer machines are composed of audio input, audio output, and a way to alter the pitch of the music. Audio mixers are the ones that are so popular today. These mixers can include a microphone input that's built in with a Laser Disc, Video CD, CD+G or DVD player. Those karaoke machines in which you can see the video lyrics display are called KTV in many countries.

Today, changing the pitch of the music, or key, to fit the vocal range of the singer is also being made possible in these machines. There are songs that are too high for the singer so it can actually be played with a lower key.

Computer Generated Songs Evolution

Now, through the use of the technology, the songs in the karaoke can now be played over computers everywhere via music files such as MIDI, MP3 and many others. What you need with this is a downloadable karaoke player instead of having the exact machine that was used originally. The players and the song files are downloaded on the internet.

Much Better Advances Are Still Coming

In order to have better use of the machine, some advances were made to make it a lot better. Just like how it was invented before, it will basically be from auto karaoke to mobile phones, there will be a time that people are going to be able to "sing along" from just about anywhere before long!
