I was just reaching a brochure on wood burning stoves when that familiar theme tune music blared out of the flat screen. Whether it be the X Factor or some other talent programme the past hasn't been to kind to it's winners. Not really many of them and went on to be successful artists. Winning a singing competition is one thing being an individual artist is another. Artists in my judgment are bred not made.
The majority of todays modern music whether it's urban, r & b, hip-hop or pop is disposal. The famous bands and artists from yesterday made an impact by touring energetically. They developed a sound through constant touring and perseverance. An aptitude show can't produce an interesting or individual artist by throwing them into a studio with a highly paid producer.
Artists take a bit of time to mature and they have to do it at their own speed, and not on the program and timescale of a record company, or dare i say it an entertainment company. There are basically plenty of folks who say going on the X factor is a unpleasant thing for your career. You'll always be remembered for being a contestant instead of for being a significant artist, and that is even if you can sing. Another problem is that tons of folk can sing, though not everyone can be a performer.
Most of the contestants on today's X Factor style shows are singing songs meant especially for an individual artist. They don't always suit being covered by somebody else. On top of that they continue to leave the public puzzled in regards to what this optimistic contender is all about. The general public are the most vital thing when it comes to winning the X Factor.
They may ensure you get the no 1 spot for Xmas, but that does not guarantee long established success as they forget about you once you take the year off to make your album. As another X Factor goes into production not many people care about last years winners new album.
