A Battle Of The Bands Can Do A Lot For A Local Band

By John Michalak

If you're in an unsigned band one of the best ways to get your group noticed is through a battle of the bands. Battles tend to draw very big crowds and help groups to build strong followings in their home town. As a group starts to win these kinds of events people start to think differently about that group. Therefore a battle of the bands helps to establish a name in the market place for any band that can win one.

It's usually not hard for a band to get on a battle of the bands, and since its a battle their fans will usually come to see them. If they are successful in getting enough local support to actually win the battle, great things will begin to happen for them in that city.

It is extremely hard to promote a regular local show, which is why it is so important to make each local show some kind of event. If you're in a local group you must take every effort to make each show special, some kind of event. It can be a birthday party for a band mate, a special holiday party, or a battle of the bands, which is one of the best events.

Local bands may not have tons of fan, but they usually have very loyal fans. When a band joins a battle of the bands most fans recognize that their favorite band needs their support. Local support and the fact that a battle has an added level of excitement are two of the reasons fans love battles. People want to see if their band will beat out all the other groups on the bill. The competition and the fact that the battle format helps to include them makes them feel right at home, and the fans love it.

So battles are easier to get people out to and the fans love them. They allow everyone to feel like they are a part of the show, and the competition makes them more fun for the fans. These are some of the reasons battles are usually sold out and battles are some of the best shows local band can play on if they want to make their fans happy.
