Nice Headphones - Wifi Headphones Review

By Isaac Evans

On the other hand, if the earphone charging station and transmitter were separated, I guess they might both need AC power, which would increase the cost of the unit. There is also a split-second delay between the time you hear something on the TV speakers, and the time you hear the same thing on the headphones. Playing video games for example, the menus were soft and subtle, and the actual game music explodes with vivacity. It's easy to strain your ears by underestimating how neutral they can be.

I guess with practice this can be overcome, with no much frustration. Set-up was easy; just follow the directions.

The headphones presented a very wide soundstage with ample presence but not too much "air". As I stated above these are very warm sounding headphones. With the 130's, which I have used for years, this does not exist. If I'm wearing the 130's and the TV is on, I only hear the sound from the 130's.

Only the volume and balance controls took me a little while to get used to; sometimes I would accidentally turn off the phones rather than adjust the volume. Previous reviewers have remarked on the slight delay in sound transmission; I'll say it is about one-tenth to one-fifth of a second. The sound is excellent in my book. The highs are crisp, the mid-range/speech areas are clear and the bass sounds are very solid but not booming. If the game is going very well and lasting a long time I don't feel like my ears are rubbing off. If I had one suggestion it would be this, and forgive me because I'm an engineer.

In a word I did not like it. You could tell it was trying to distill the 5.1 mixes down to 2 channels & frankly it did not do a good job.

I have watched action movies, played the latest CoD Black Ops and many other games and listen to a wide variety of music and have really found no weak spot as far as sound depth. They exceed any wired headphones I have used for any of the same activities. The product is fine, except for the select bottoms. They are hard to find, because they are even with the earpiece and one has to search for the right one. Very good sound quality for an audiophile ear, but they won't be your best headphone if you're an audiophile. They are light, non-fatiguing and immensely enjoyable.

The Sennheiser RS 180 Headphones have restored my ability to hear Television and Music with all of the Bass, Treble, Voice, and Stereo sounds. I have an 80% hearing loss, and have been looking for something that would allow me to hear well without disturbing others. The sound quality of the 180 is only marginally better than the 120 and the positioning of the controls makes it more difficult to use. If you buy additional headsets you will need to sync them to the base before they'll function. Also, the cans sounded too mellow at first, but they sound much more neutral now. It is still rather on the "warm" side, but I would say only to a pleasant degree to my ears.
