Landscape speakers are usually waterproof and engineered for outdoor purposes, for wet, and moist surroundings. Their primary function is to spread a seamless sound, typically on a 360 degree scale, for wider open areas like parks and gardens. Their shapes and designs vary. Garden types are most common.

They are basically intended to be installed in a semi-permanent or fixed outdoor purposes. Being outdoors, these are exposed to various environmental elements. They cost money. Proper installation, maintenance and care are therefor essential to counter its wear and tear.

When installing, mind to choose a smoother surface to minimize or avoid vibration. If they are to driven to ground, choose areas where water does not stagnate. Wires or cords must be routed in proper way. Otherwise, these may be pulled, or pinched or cause accidental tripping. It may be wise to opt for installation service from the unit seller, or hire a master electrician to install. Post installation waterproofing is necessary.

There are various ways to how these could be installed. These can be driven to the ground, fastened to concrete, mounted to wood, or other surface types. There are plenty of models to choose from. Care and maintenance requirement may vary per model.

Speakers should be installed as per product instruction. Distances from the amplifier, or receiver to where the speaker will be located contribute to the quality of sound they produce. Extra peripherals needed during installation such as wiring, protective coating and sealant, bracket should be within suggested specifications by its manufacturer.

Landscape speakers have to be cleaned at periodic intervals. These generally comprise of several parts. Some are tiny pieces and needs delicate care to handle. When washing, use of a wet cloth soaked in mild detergent is normally sufficient to get rid of peripheral dirt or dust. Alternatively, fresh water sprayed on by a hose can be used.
