The cost is affordable, $25.73. The ear-cup covers the whole ear and doesn't sit on top of earlobes unlike a few of the other designs.
The appearance of the headband is ridiculous; it creates pressure at the top of your head which is uncomfortable after a couple of minutes.
Nevertheless, I apologize to say the second I put these on, I realized I'd not be able to continue with them. I truly love these headphones and particularly like the switch between movie and music, which actually has a difference!
I would recommend no one to ever buy these things, total and complete disappointment. I personally use these as studio head phones for any internet pod cast. Otherwise, they are excellent, especially for the cost. And don't think these provide great bass response. Worse, there isnt enough there to glue it back or try some repairs. Overall if you're contemplating buying these do it now! They do muffle exterior noise well, but if you touch or move the very first 2 feet or so of cord you'll be able to hear it in the left earcup. They are ideal for what I wanted.
I'd say that any sound below about 50Hz just buzzes and is about as irritating as the highs. I rate the product a three becuase it's good if your simply looking for a less expensive headset that actually works but not perfectly. If you are looking to get headphones with great overall sound, they are great. I truly got what I paid for buying these. The Sony MDR-XD200 is extremely lightweight, comfortable and "very well balanced" headphones which I really surprised with it's quality of sound for the cost of $25.00 I paid! They have great sound and I mosty use these cool headphones for home use. You should not be disappointed as I am not! They've survived many drops, pulls on the wire, puppy chewing on them, and even a couple of indignant tosses. Noisy (obviously, I've had these for more than a year so that is to be anticipated).
There's only really two bad things I'm able to find about these infrared wireless headphones.
Fantastic pair of headphones.
General, great headphones. I search for a while for a good set of reasonably priced headphones. They're light-weight and they do not squeeze my head and for that reason they do not squeeze the earpieces on my small glasses. If there is an opportunity you may want richer sound, so if you have some extra bucks I recommend you continue searching for head phones.

They have comparable quality of sound as your 10 dollar rf wireless headphones you purchase at Best Buy. I sold this wireless home stereo on eBay, to some client who needed high quality at a bargain price.
