Hangout Music Festival Boosts Tourism in Gulf Shores

By Dean Prater

Reports of the total earnings generated by the Hangout Music Festival held in May are starting to become great news for Gulf Shores locals and also businesses. As outlined by an al.com report, a substantial $30 million could have been injected into the economy here a result of the festival. This number is much greater than what was believed by the organizers and city officials. The immense interest in the event along with its excellent impact on the economy and tourism of Gulf Shores are excellent news for the planners too, who are already starting to plan next year's festival.

The Hangout Festival

The Hangout Festival was a 3 day event that was enjoyed by roughly 35,000 people who assembled at Gulf Shores between May 20th to 22nd. Special occasions such as these are perfect for the economy and also lure tourists to these parts. Ordinarily, this particular time is not one that receives a lot of vacationers coming in to Gulf Shores but this year the roads as well as the beach were entirely filled with throngs of people.

Organizer of the Hangout festival, Shaul Zislin, is understandably delighted with the reaction that the festival has drawn. He hopes to get even bigger crowds in the coming year in summer when the next festival comes around and is already chalking out the plans to make the event even better then. Officials are also gearing up to address the parking, crowd management and safety issues that will take place with such considerable crowds. Altogether, the Hangout Festival is all set to be an even better success in 2012.
