Second Purchase Of These Headphones-Great - Custom Headphones Review

By Luke Thompson

I've tried these with music and TV, and both sound great. Regarding the volume control, there is a tradeoff. Here's a quick review for you. The quality is absolutely great, and the range is incredible.

In almost every respect, these Sennheiser RS 180 Digital Wireless Headphones are excellent: - The good experience starts with the packaging. The main box, the two inner boxes and the inner plastic container are very well designed and built like tanks. The headphones are light weight and comfortable to wear for extend periods. They are over the ear and so they don't press down on your ears. He could understand the vocals separated from the music. Our prayers were answered. If you're going out jogging for miles, don't take anything for granted. Take in mind the open design though; if you're in the same room as someone who's planning on sleeping, you can't turn these up too high. They play fine all throughout the day so they are full charged each morning. When you take the headphones off, you must press the ON button on the base unit, and then press the power button on the headphones before they will work.

Whether it is much better than the 130's is a perception thing since I can't at the same time be hearing both. If I had found an issue with the sound quality of the 130's, then the 180's would have solved it. I have used the Sennheiser RS-130 for the past 4 years, and the surround sound was incredible and delicious. My main uses are for Blu-ray movies and late night TV viewing as to not disturb any neighbors, plus it's an intimate experience without any street noise.

Only the volume and balance controls took me a little while to get used to; sometimes I would accidentally turn off the phones rather than adjust the volume. Previous reviewers have remarked on the slight delay in sound transmission; I'll say it is about one-tenth to one-fifth of a second.

That is to say every note was rendered as a distinct and succinct item. If you want headphones that are strident, then look elsewhere.

All three buttons are in a 1 1/2 by 3/8 inch space with almost no way to feel which button you want. Not an easy task for any fingers, much less older fingers. The headphones are comfortable though I would like a bit more padding spanning the entire headband. The buttons on the headphones that control power, volume and balance (handy if you have asymmetrical hearing deficits) are too small and flat. The ultimate test was the television with 5.1 surround sound. When these headphones were plugged into the home theatre system, for the first time he was happy.
