Great Earphone Does Not Block Noise That Nicely - Cool Headphones Review

By Samantha Bennett

It's difficult to feel them at times. I often turn the unit off while trying to adjust the volume down.

I bought these to use with Skype so I could move around or lay down on group calls and studies I participate in. I had tried a cheaper pair that I returned because they wouldn't connect. I would even say that in some instances the quality is better than what I hear normally through my speakers. I was a little concerned about purchasing wireless headphones and the effect it would have on the quality, I would say it is not a concern any more. We use Sennheiser products (mics) in our Rock Band and the performance is consistent and high-end quality. I would recommend this product to others. The RS180 are a blessing as far as wireless headphones go. If you're an audiophile who demands the absolute best and wants to hear every note of Tchaikovsky, it won't be on these.

Remember this: escape is not a luxury; it is a necessity if you want to get an advanced degree in sound and mind travel. Now get out and buy these phones! I have been charging and allowing the phones to completely discharge for a week now and I'm getting 8-10 hours listening time. I'm still far from the 24 hours they claim however. These headphones were meant to be multi-purpose: music, primarily classical, New Age, contemporary (a wide range), as well as TV. There is nowhere I can go in my home where I can make it drop out, or even produce any noise/static, including down my driveway to my mailbox. They have a soft velour pad that goes around your ear and more at the top of your head. People who are bald or balding will probably find them pretty comfortable compared to unpadded bands.

The surround sounds are incredible. It makes watching movies with outstanding sound tracks a real treat. This was entirely the fault of the Sony. Having said that, the sheer ability of this set to reproduce sound simply overcame the shortcomings. When I decided on the RS-180 I bought it from J & R because their customer service is outstanding. The DVD product guide estimated an initial charge of up to 16 hours, but mine was ready for blastoff in about 7.

I can essentially use them anywhere in my house and some outside as well. Near the perimeter of the range you will get some cutting out, but step one foot closer and they're as clear as they are one foot from the base. To be specific, Sound staging is quite good. Bass is full, prompt, and accurate.

The control buttons are too difficult to adjust while they are on your head. You need to be able to easily identify which button is which with feel so make them more distinctive in feel and spatial separation.
